DESCRIPTION:Watch Recording				\n							\n		Taking Back Your Narrative is an exciting new webinar series from Social Current’s Public Policy & Government Relations office. This series will empower social sector organizations\, staff\, and volunteers to transform their expertise\, lived experience\, and passions into an effective advocacy strategy to create local\, regional\, and national change. \nThis webinar\, the first in the series\, will offer novice and seasoned policy and change advocates the chance to learn and grow in their advocacy skills. The first half of the session will include an overview of the U.S. Congress\, the Social Current Public Policy and Government Relations Office\, and Social Current’s 2022-2024 federal policy agenda. She joined Social Current in 2022 after working in health policy on Capitol Hill\, the nonprofit sector\, and as a biomedical researcher. Before public service\, Abelle-Kiser spent several years as a medical research scientist on several industry and NIH-funded projects. Her work focused on developing research projects and clinical trials to improve the lives of African Americans with Sickle Cell Disease. \nShe earned a doctorate in biomedical science from Morehouse School of Medicine in 2017 and a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Kentucky in 2011.
