By attending Social Current’s webinars and events, participants agree to our event code of conduct and relevant event policies and disclaimers.

Event Code of Conduct

Social Current’s Event Code of Conduct applies to all meetings and events, whether in person at public or private facilities or held virtually. Social Current is committed to ensuring a productive and welcoming environment for all participants. All participants are expected to abide by this Code.

Definitions include:

  • Harassment – Behavior that intimidates, torments, disturbs, or threatens a person on any basis including age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ancestry, color, disability, national origin, race/ethnicity, religion/creed, or other factors.
  • Sexual Harassment – Any unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other unwelcome verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
  • Participant(s) – Persons including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, guests, exhibitors/vendors, service providers, staff, and others involved in the event.

Expected Behavior

  • Treat all participants with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
  • Be considerate and collegial.
  • Communicate with respect for others.
  • Critique ideas, rather than individuals.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings, other event participants, and venue/contracted support staff.
  • Alert on-premises security personnel and Social Current staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
  • Respect the rules and policies of all venues associated with the event.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment of any kind including, but not limited to, harassment based on ethnicity, religion, disability, physical appearance, gender, or sexual orientation.
  • Harassment in any form, including bullying, threatening, stalking, intimidation, microaggressions, insinuations or disparaging comments that are hurtful or interfere with any other participant’s experience.
  • Sexual harassment, including but not limited to, unwanted or inappropriate conduct, unwanted sexual attention, comments, jokes, or advances.
  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
  • Possession of a weapon or any item that can be used as a weapon, which may be used to threaten or cause injury to others if used in a certain manner.
  • Discriminatory jokes and language based on sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, gender identity, religion/creed, national origin or political views.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording, including within the event environment for use on social media, without the prior permission of the individuals or owners of the content therein.
  • Failure to obey any rules or regulations of the event venue, including any destruction or vandalizing of personal or event property and materials.
  • Boisterous, lewd or offensive behavior or language that disrupts the event, a session, or other event segment in any way.
  • Drinking in an irresponsible manner.
  • Falsely reporting violations of this Code and/or retaliating against another participant for reporting a violation of this Code.

Social Current reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine what constitutes unacceptable behavior and what actions it will take to address incidents that occur.

Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior
Participants who are asked to stop their behavior will be expected to comply immediately. If a participant continues to violate this Code, Social Current may take whatever actions it deems appropriate, including removal from event without refund, disqualification from attending future events, notification of participant’s employer, or notification of on-premises security or local law enforcement as necessary.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior
If you are subjected to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify Social Current staff as soon as possible. All reported concerns will be treated seriously and addressed. All participants are expected to cooperate fully and honestly with any effort by Social Current to address violations.

Photography and Videography Disclaimer

When attending any of Social Current’s meetings and events, whether in person at public or private facilities, online, or during virtual events, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By attending the meeting or event, you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording, and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, webcasts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, or any other purpose by Social Current, its affiliates, and representatives. You release Social Current, its officers and employees and each and all individuals involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video, and/or sound recordings.

By attending the meeting or event, you waive all rights to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by Social Current or the person or entity designated to do so by Social Current. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.

Health and Safety Disclaimer for In-Person Events

You understand that travel and gathering involves risk of illness. By attending the meeting or event, you waive and release Social Current and its sponsors and exhibitors, and their employees and agents, from and against claims, liabilities, and expenses arising from injury, sickness, or death from contraction or spread of communicable diseases due to travel to or attendance at an event sponsored by Social Current. Individuals agree to not attend any Social Current event if they feel ill, exhibit any symptoms, or test positive for any communicable virus prior to the event. This waiver and release is binding on the registered individual and their heirs and successors.

Privacy Policy

Social Current does not sell contact information of meeting registrants, although we do provide some basic contact information to sponsors and exhibitors for purposes of marketing the event. The following information is provided to them for one-time use in a spreadsheet format: Name, title, company, and mailing address. By engaging in sponsor-generated or sponsored content, you grant permission to that company to contact you.

Social Current will collect and store information you provide in this registration form to enable us to register your attendance at this event, to assist with administrative and planning purposes and for future event planning and development.
