Women’s Executive Leadership Essentials

The Children’s Guild – Transformation Academy 6802 McClean Boulevard
Baltimore, MD 21234

October 11 October 13 EDT

$3750

Women are frequently underrepresented at the executive level, not due to lack of talent, but due to fewer leadership development opportunities, colleagues who serve as sponsors/champions, and exposure to stretch roles. Purpose-driven leadership development programs, like this one, can help women succeed without requiring them to conform to outdated models. This leadership development program, held in partnership with Loyola University Maryland, is designed to strengthen the essential leadership capacities of senior-level female leaders in the social sector with an emphasis on translating strategy into sustained impact.

The program includes two days of in-person sessions and six months of online learning and coaching. It will focus on strategic vision, systems thinking, and inclusive leadership, as well as how to leverage the relational strengths women often bring to executive roles. Participants will build confidence in aligning mission, resources, and long-term goals; influencing policy and advocacy efforts; and engaging boards, funders, and community stakeholders with clarity and purpose. The program will encourage participants to view leadership as an active and evolving practice that has the power to shape organizational culture, advance equity, and ensure sustainability.

Teaching Methods

Knowledge will be translated into action through practical frameworks, applied exercises, and reflection that connect high-level concepts to real executive challenges. By the end of the program, participants leave with actionable plans and tools they can immediately apply to strengthen their organizations and expand their impact.

Six Months of Online Learning and Networking
Participants will join an online learning community designed by Social Current to support their leadership development journey, strengths, and opportunities. The virtual learning will include peer engagement activities and a discussion board to promote networking. The learning community will include relevant articles, white papers, webinars, development plans and on-demand content specific to women in leadership.

Six Months of Individual Coaching Through Loyola University Maryland’s Center for Coaching
Participants will engage in monthly one-on-one coaching to foster self-awareness, sharpen decision making, and accelerate leadership growth. During the in-person event, participants will observe a live coaching demonstration to better understand the flow and impact of an effective coaching conversation. They’ll also participate in guided exercises to identify their core values and begin shaping meaningful leadership goals. The orientation will establish a shared understanding of the coaching process and expectations, equipping leaders to maximize this personalized and high-impact professional development opportunity throughout the program.
