Social Current is currently seeking a Practice Excellence Standards Specialist who will be responsible for planning and carrying out standards development projects related to our accreditation standards as well as other standards-related initiatives. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys reading and synthesizing best-practice literature, writing, and facilitating group discussion to build consensus among diverse groups of subject matter experts. This position requires an individual with strong organization and technical writing skills as well as someone who is driven to build collaborative relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and to identify innovative ways for the sector to engage with Social Current’s standards to promote practice excellence. This is a remote position with occasional opportunities for travel within the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages designated standards sections related to specific areas of expertise:
    • Conducts literature reviews on best practices
    • Writes and edits best practice standards
    • Collects and analyzes data to develop new standards and modify existing standards
    • Coordinates and manages stakeholder advisory panels
  • Provides consistent, accurate, and timely standards explanations and information to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborates across the organization to support the development of material and tools that help further stakeholder understanding of the standards social-current.org
  • Collaborates across the organization to monitor and appropriately respond to current trends, changes in practice, legislative activity, and service delivery uniqueness impacting the social sector
  • Consults with the Director of Practice Excellence Standards Development to resolve standards-related concerns expressed by Social Current’s network and personnel
  • Presents at relevant conferences and through online learning solutions (e.g. webinars, self-paced trainings, and/or in-person workshops) when appropriate

  • EDI content experience in research, operations, policy development, professional services, or a related area is preferred

This exempt position will offer an annual salary based upon standard work hours of 35 hours per week. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing Social Current’s fund development initiatives including, but not limited to, building the organization’s culture of philanthropy; building a comprehensive fund development strategy and implementation plan; managing the fund development team; and leading efforts to maintain and develop new relationships with philanthropy to support Social Current key priorities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively work with the Sr. Director and executive team to develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy, plan, and goals with a priority focus on foundation and corporate funders and long-term relationship management.
  • Provide leadership to maintain current individual donors and identify potential appropriate government funding opportunities. Foster and sustain a fund development strategy across the organization, including establishing and cultivating strong relationships across all levels of the organization, setting, and meeting shared philanthropy goals, and cultivating an ongoing commitment to the role of philanthropy within the overall financial strategy for the organization.
  • Developing applicable targets, metrics as well as monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor development staff to work collaboratively and effectively to meet all fund development goals and contribute to the mission, vision, and values of Social Current.
  • Assume primary responsibility for development and grant writing for all foundation and corporate proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Cultivate trusted partnership with existing grantors and potential grantors.
  • Oversee research on funding sources and trends, with foresight to help position Social Current ahead of major funding changes or trends.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all donor information, gift records, and other fundraising data; and monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.
  • In collaboration with Marketing/Communications, create a promotion and engagement strategy that elevates philanthropic partnerships to build new and continuing relationships.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Fundraising, Marketing, and Communications SPARK, a professional peer community dedicated to helping build the fundraising and marketing capacities of Social Current network leaders, including staffing the SPARK leadership team, developing webinars, and learning tools, and engaging the network through regular learning and networking opportunities.
  • Participate on Social Current’s Leadership Implementation Team and provide insight and strategic direction related to philanthropy as a critical part of the Social Current’s business model.
  • Articulates the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) to Social Current’s mission to internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization with demonstrated success in a fund development function; experience working with national intermediary or other national social sector organizations is preferred.
  • Experience working with human serving organizations, with understanding of nonprofit structure, operations, and culture and passion for advancing the capacity and influence of the social sector.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating program components and activities, ensuring departmental level projects are delivered or executed on time and within budget. The coordinator assists the team by creating and helping to execute program work plans and revises, as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. The program coordinator will also maintain, budget and track expenditures/transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement work plans for various initiatives, in accordance with customer and/or funder requirements and expectations.
  • Manage multiple departmental level programs by utilizing sound project management methodology that includes identifying and managing overall program dependencies; identifying program risks and delays, initiating development of a mitigation plan with program team and key stakeholders; and identifying and escalating issues to ensure resolution and to make sure program deliverables stay on time and on target.
  • Continuously keep the program sponsors, key stakeholders, and program team informed as to the requirements and critical issues.
  • Maintain, budget and track budgets and expenditures

The role of the Staff Accountant (Accounts Receivable) is to manage and perform all aspects of accounts receivable functions such as, Invoicing, assisting in the monthly closing as well as preparation of the year-end audit. The Staff Accountant communicates effectively with Social Current staff members and provides support to external clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes daily receipts, credit cards, bank deposits and generates invoices for mailing (email).
  • Monitors the A/R Aging and performs follow-up calls to past due customers. Mail (email) out monthly statements, follow-up to customer inquiries.
  • Monitors payment plans issued by Client Relations.
  • Generates Internal/External Billing (Site Visit, MOA billing, etc.)
  • Provides Client Relations Division supporting documentation of Accreditation payments received.
  • Monitors Financial Clearance process provided to Commission Division.
  • Serves on and supports the Adverse Action Committee. Creates and updates a monthly sanction list for the past due organizations. Sends out the intent to take adverse action letters, follows up with the collection agency.
  • Updates and maintains CRM (ARC system) for accreditation related fees.
  • Resolves Cases assigned in Salesforce.
  • Updates the monthly financial dashboard using Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint.
  • Assists with year-end audit work related to A/R functions.
  • Occasional travel to attend all staff meeting is required.
