Community-based organizations routinely provide vital services and supports to improve the social determinants of health for children, youth, and adults. Key to this service delivery are the social referrals, which are often related to highly confidential matters such as substance abuse disorders or domestic violence. This webinar will feature a panel of experts from findhelp and The Stephen Group that will discuss the various consent models as well as larger issues related to open and closed networks. The panel will also discuss the concerns surrounding access to confidential personal referral information and current legislative efforts around the country to address privacy in social care.
This webinar will provide an introduction to Social Current and COA Accreditation. Participants will gain an understanding of the key concepts that define COA Accreditation, the steps toward becoming accredited, and the benefits of accreditation.

The Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) equips senior-level managers and executives with the knowledge and skills to oversee day-to-day operations and prepare for the future and greater systems change. For this upcoming May 2022 session, Social Current will partner with Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business, accessing first-class faculty and specialized expertise, as well as the flexibility to create a program to transform students’ leadership skills.

It is clear that advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion is important for the social sector. However, it can be difficult to know where to start. Social Current’s approach to EDI positions organizations for success by focusing on organizational culture and addressing equity at multiple levels. Join this session to learn more about Social Current’s approach to EDI, which is based on years of experience in partnering with community-based organizations. Participant will also gain tips for how to be successful in advancing equity at your organization.
This training introduces participants to a social identity framework focused on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression (SOGIE). In addition to learning about SOGIE in the context of social identities, participants will also review best practices to enhance interpersonal and professional relationships with clients and peers who identify as LGBTQ+ or have diverse/expansive SOGIE.
Increasingly federal and state systems of care are requiring SOGIE data collection, and many agencies are not prepared. Additionally, the absence of SOGIE visibility can be a barrier for referrals to agencies who are equipped to serve LGBTQ+ people. This training focuses on how LGBTQ+ identity can impact the way people prioritize voice and choice in service delivery.
This training introduces participants to the Family Acceptance Project’s research, which highlights the correlation between caregiver behaviors toward LGBT youth and future health and safety outcomes. Additionally, participants will learn about family preservation and the Ruth Ellis Center’s approach to working with families of LGBTQ+ youth.
This training provides an overview of gender-affirming care and transitioning (socially, medically, and legally). These practices serve to increase safety, access to resources, and mental/emotional well-being for gender diverse people. Whether a medical professional or someone who is interested in advocating for the LGBTQ+ community, participants will leave with concrete behaviors which can be implemented in a variety of roles when serving individuals with diverse gender identity and expression.
In this webinar we will share the key components of the Learning Collaborative, including the benefits of joining, core curriculum and activities, initiative timeline, organizational commitments, and financial information. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the Learning Collaborative and/or the application process.
